VPO™ Product familly

One Family

The VPO™ System is one family, which presently consists of three products:

  • VPO™ EPD - for simulating electro-paint deposition
  • VPO™ Baking - for simulating the oven baking process
  • VPO™ T2D - for simulating the drainage process

In addition to these products, the VPO™ family, based on body surface grids, can be readily expanded to include models of paint spraying and other surface-based operations in vehicle manufacturing processes.

One Computational Grid

The VPO™ System uses the same computational grid for the vehicle body or part being simulated.

One Interface

The same software framework is used for all VPO products and these are accessible through an integrated graphical user interface, colour-coded for each product.

Software Interface

VPO™ EPD

  • VPO™ EPD is used for multiple purposes:
  • Predicting the effects of hole sizes and positions on electrocoat coverage inside structures
  • Determining proper voltage responses when anodes break-down
  • Estimating effect and proper response when electrocoat material changes
  • Determining appropriate responses when line speed changes are needed
  • Determining if new models will run correctly in existing tanks
  • Minimizing film variability

VPO™ EPD Simulators are available in single user and network versions. Four different computational models are provided:

Serial, Parallel, Fast Spectral, and Parallel Fast Spectral.

VPO™ Baking

VPO™ Baking is used for predicting the effect of different process parameters and work flows, on the surface of a vehicle being baked, without the need to perform trial-and-error experiments with physical prototypes. The computational model predicts temperatures over the entire vehicle and approximates the paint cure state.

VPO™ Baking Simulators are available in single user and network versions.

Four different computational models are provided:

Serial, Parallel, Fast Spectral, and Parallel Fast Spectral.

VPO™ T2D

VPO™ T2D is used for two purposes:

  1. Identifying areas of the vehicle where potential problems may arise due to drainage, run-offs, and drips
  2. Predicting the time to drain a vehicle without the need to perform trial-and-error experiments with physical prototypes.

VPO™ T2D serial simulators are available in single user and network versions.
